When Florence Laura Collett was born on 21 April 1916 in Coulsdon, Surrey, her father, John, was 30, and her mother, Laura, was 24.
She was baptised on 25 June 1916 at St Mary's Chiddingfold, Surrey, by her father John Henry and her mother Laura.
She married Frederick George Turner Harris on 1 April 1933 when she was 16 years old. They had two children during their marriage. She died on 25 January 1984 at the age of 67.
